Advanced postgraduate training in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery was performed with Dr. John Q. Owsley at Davies Medical Center, San Francisco, California. Dr. Fiala has also completed a degree in music from the Royal Conservatory of Music.

Dr. Fiala is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Member of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Reed O. Dingman Plastic Surgery Society, a Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada, a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, a Member of the Florida Medical Association and the Better Business Bureau.
